South Korea’s Park to Meet Obama in May

SEOUL KOREA - President Park is scheduled to hold a discussion with President Obama on the 7th of May. They will discuss the future of cooperation regarding the North Korea Policy including the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. This is the first meeting since Park has assumed the presidency.

Yoon Chang Joong, the Blue House spokesman announced that, “President Park received an invitation from President Obama to have a meeting on 7th in Washington D.C. The discussion will include the consolidation of the Korea-USA alliance and the entire North Korea Policy.

The purpose of this meeting is to enhance the relationship and to celebrate the alliance between Korea and the United States for the past 60 years. On top of this, they will discuss cooperation to implement the North Korea Policy of denuclearization, and reinforcing a global partnership to promote peace within Northeast Asia.

Park is expected to New York City to meet UN secretary general, Ban ki-moon and Korean residents on 5th and 6th in the US. She will also visit Los Angeles to meet on the 8th and 9th and will return to Korea on the 10th.
