SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Engineering & Construction said on May 20 it has won the BCA Construction Excellence Awards given out by Singapore's Building & Construction Authority in two categories including commercial & mixed development buildings and residential buildings. According to the construction contractor, its "One Shentonway building" that it completed building in 2010 won the best award in the former category while its "Pasir Ris Condominium and Livia Condominium" that it completed in early 2011 received the best award in the latter category. Meanwhile, "Asia Square Tower 1" won the excellence award in the commercial & mixed development buildings category.
A Hyundai E&C official said that all its three buildings in Singapore won awards and the company has won a total of 12 awards from BCA since the first best award in 1997. "With this year's awards, we have won five awards for three years in a row, cementing our reputation as a reliable builder in Singapore and beyond," the official added.
For 28 years, the BCA Construction Excellence Awards have been given in seven categories to completed buildings in Singapore. The awards are based on evaluations on several criteria including construction quality, safety, technical prowess, and innovativeness.
