LAS VEGAS, USA - Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq:INFA), the world's number one independent provider of data integration software, today introduced Vibe, the industry's first and only embeddable virtual data machine (VDM). Vibe enables users to harness data in applications, business processes and connected devices.

"Today, to radically simplify data infrastructure, Informatica is launching the industry's first and only virtual data machine -- Vibe," said Sohaib Abbasi, chairman and chief executive officer, Informatica. "Using Vibe, developers, IT staff and extended business-IT teams are more productive, efficient and effective in addition to being well-positioned to harness technology changes to their advantage."

Informatica customers, partners and industry leaders have spoken out in support of Vibe.

Industry Leaders

"Wayin is all about sparking conversations and information integration is at the heart of it. Making information integration brain-dead simple has got to be the right thing to do. Just the way Java enabled applications anywhere, Vibe will enable information everywhere."

Scott McNealy, Chairman, Wayin and co-founder and former chairman and CEO of Sun Microsystems

"As the leader in open source, we applaud Informatica's initiative to simplify and standardize data mapping. Vibe's approach of Map Once, Deploy Anywhere across applications and development environments has great promise and we look forward to seeing these efforts progress."

Jim Whitehurst, President and chief executive officer, Red Hat

"The Internet of Things is one of the most data-rich opportunities in the world. Billions of connected devices will soon be information citizens generating valuable insights that can be used to make better decisions. There is a critical need for data services from the device to big data analytics in the data center; Informatica's Vibe technology is very promising, and we are excited to see how a scalable architecture can transform information infrastructure."

Ken Klein, president, Wind River

"With our recent launch of Pivotal HD, which includes new HAWQ technology that brings more than 100X performance improvement to a wide range of query types and workloads, we deliver the world's most powerful Apache Hadoop distribution. Combine our technology with Informatica's Vibe, and you have a solution that is truly differentiated when it comes to Hadoop integration jobs."

David Menninger, Head of Business Development and Strategy, Pivotal

"Visier was created to give business users and HR professionals instant insight into their workforce, but to do so we need to harness data from multiple applications -- both in the cloud and on premise. With Vibe, Informatica's map once and deploy anywhere approach brings the flexibility of a single solution that enables Visier, our customers, and our partners to map once and deploy high quality information to Visier."

John Schwarz, founder and chief executive officer, Visier and former CEO of Business Objects

"We live in a data centric world, yet the proliferation of new social media platforms, mobile devices and the cloud are pulling in different directions, creating multiple points of data interoperability. Informatica is taking a page out of the Java playbook with the Vibe virtual data machine, an embeddable runtime that ensures your data can run anywhere and be read anywhere."

George Paolini, Founder, JavaOne and the Java Community Process
