SEOUL, KOREA – South Korean telecom operator KT said it will launch LTE data roaming services in Europe in collaboration with Swiss wireless communications operator Swisscom.
KT’s launch of LTE data roaming service in partnership with Swisscom will be the first LTE data roaming service commercialization between an European nation and an Asian country. Starting from Switzerland, KT plans to expand its LTE data service coverage to other parts of Europe.
The LTE data roaming service will charge users the lowest 3.5 won per packet, the same as 3G data roaming services. Once users join “LTE data roaming KRW 50,000 Plan”, they can use 150 MB data for 5 days, regardless of 3G and LTE networks.

KT는 국내 업체 최초로 유럽국가에서 LTE 데이터로밍 서비스를 선보인다고 3일 밝혔다.
스위스 이동통신사업자 스위스콤(Swisscom)과 협력해 제공한다.
스위스 LTE 데이터로밍 서비스 상용화는 아시아 국가와 유럽 국가 간 이루어진 최초의 대륙간 LTE 서비스다. KT는 스위스를 시작으로 타 유럽 국가로 커버리지 확대할 계획이다.
LTE 데이터로밍 이용 요금은 3G 데이터로밍과 동일하게 통신사 중 가장 저렴한 패킷당 3.5원이 적용되며, `LTE 데이터로밍 5만원권` 상품 가입을 통해서도 서비스를 이용할 수 있다.
5만원으로 5일 동안 3G•LTE 망에 상관없이 150MB 데이터를 이용할 수 있다.
