SEOUL, KOREA - On, September 9, 2013, Professor Jonathan Trent, a world-class futurologist gave a lecture to ‘Discuss the future on IT Fusion Healthcare, Climate Change and Energy Industry.’ The lecture was presented at the 13th Global Futures Studies Association Forum at Seoul Press Center, South Korea.
Prof. Trent spoke primarily on the subject of nanotechnology and bio-energy. He suggested as Korea is technically advanced in areas of steel, engineering, shipbuilding, and electronics, a future energy technique of ALGAE incubation can be settled here and be of success.
The ALGAE incubation technique is to derive energy by using ALGAE in the sea. A vast sea would be needed (approx. 200km x 200km) and through this marine energy industry can be advanced in Korea and this industry can be connected to strive towards the creative economy.
Prof. Trent illustrated a case where solar thermal energy is being used in Germany, a place where over 200 days of their year is cloudy. He suggested policies to be pushed ahead, and the need to regulate negative policies.
In the field of medicine, he primarily spoke on the diagnosis of current techniques and predicted usage of Big Data DNA information programs for the future.

Ahn Jong-bae, Chairman at the Global Futures Studies Association and a Professor at the Hansei University, stated “With the world-known futurologist Jonathan Trent united with IT and energy, the meeting followed to be a discussion regarding the flow of Future technology and current-state convergence. Global Futures Studies Association will progress to be a seminar to predict the future periodically.”
100 participants were present at the Global Futures Studies Association. SEOUL, KOREA - 세계적인 미래학자인 조나단 트렌트 교수가 9월9일 서울 프레스센터 19층 매화홀에서 열린 국제미래학술포럼에서 `IT융합 헬스케어, 기후변화 및 에너지 산업, 미래를 논하다`라는 주제로 강연하였다.
나노기술과 바이오에너지를 주제로 하였다. 200일 이상 날씨가 흐린 독일의 태양광 에너지 집행 사례를 들며, 정책을 적극적 추진을 주문했으며, 정책은 네가티브 규제도 필요하다고 했다. 한국은 철강, 조선, 건설, 전자 등의 기술 발달로 충분히 미래 에너지 기술인 알지(ALGAE)배양으로 성공리에 정착 할 수 있으며, 광대한 바다(200KM x 200KM)를 해양 에너지 산업으로 발달시킬 수 있다며 신경제와 연계를 주장하였다.
의학분야에서는 현재의 진단 기술이 주로였으나, 미래에는 빅 데이터인 DNA 정보를 이용한 예측 프로그램을 예측하였다. 100여명의 미래와 관련 분야 전문가가 함께한 학술포럼에는 김광두 국가미래연구원장, 이주영 새누리당 여의도연구소 소장, 배은희 한국바이오협회 회장, 이경숙 전 한국장학재단 이사장, 위철환 대한변호사협회 회장이 축사하였고 기조 강연 이후 이남식 국제미래학회장 사회로 김학도 산업통상자원부 국장, 이제호 인제 일산병원 교수, 권원태 기상청 기후과학국장, 정욱형 CEO에너지 대표, 염용섭 SK경제경영연구소 실장 등이 참석하는 패널 토의가 있었다.
이남식 국제미래학회 회장은 한국은 FAST FOLLOWER에서 새로운 지도가 되는 중이다. 여기서는 INSIGHT와 FORESIGHT가 필요하다고 강조 했으며, 안종배 국제미래학회 학술위원장(한세대 교수)은 “세계적인 미래학자와 함께 IT와 에너지를 결합한 미래기술 흐름과 컨버전스 현황을 논의하는 자리가 되었다며 국제미래학회는 주기적으로 미래를 예측할 수 있는 세미나를 진행되었다”고 말했다.
