India Tourism Tokyo's Korean language web site -- www.incredibleindia.co.kr -- won first prize in the Information Service, Travel Guidance section of the 7th Korea Web Awards. The Hankook Ilbo hosted the awards ceremony which was sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communication, Small and Medium Business Administration, Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency, Korea Institute of Design Promotion and Korea Internet Company Association. This is the second year that the awards have been held.

The 7th Korea Web Awards recognize the top companies with the competitive power of ideas, technology and management ability in the fields of web design and internet-based technology. It also aims to improve the domestic internet business industry and the development of the IT industry. The companies, organizations and corporations are divided into 9 sections and 72 subsections according to business model.

The committee selected 24 companies as awardees for Grand Prize, First Prize, and Excellence Prize in each section. They were selected in three steps from among 500 applicants through an application of a strict screening process based on official records. India Tourism, Tokyo was awarded the First Prize last February in recognition of many outstanding achievements and contributions in the field of developing Internet business and e-business.

The website was designed, produced and is being hosted by Advicom Group in Korea, the PR agency for India Tourism Tokyo. To meet Korean travelers' needs it was designed for easy access of information on Indian Culture, Fashion, Art, Transportation and Religion. Easy access to the information of the website helped make the number of Korean visitors to India increase by more than 46% compared to last year.

It was highly evaluated by the Ministry of Information and Communication that the website was updated with the latest detailed tourist information along with recent traveler patterns.

Ms. Janice Y.J. Ahn, the Marketing Representative of JSTAR, a subsidiary of Advicom Group was awarded the prize on behalf of India Tourism Tokyo. She has been working for India Tourism Tokyo for 13 years. "Not only a medical destination, more and more Korean visitors are looking to India as a cultural, spiritual, fashion and economic destination. India has become a favored destination for individual travelers and is well known as an IT country in Korea." She emphasized India's attractions at her interview.

This prize is more valuable as it is the proof that the Korean government recognizes India as the country with consummate IT abilities, since this Korea web award is sponsored by the Ministry of Information and communication. To celebrate the award, the officers of the Ministry of Information and Communication attended the prize ceremony.

Recently India Tourism Tokyo has been using the slogan -- India is for all seasons and for all reasons. To position India as the best destination for all four seasons India Tourism Tokyo is focusing on the diversity of the destinations and activities available and to Korean travelers in India. India has earned a reputation as a health and wellness destination in Korea.
