SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Engineering & Construction won the BCA Award for Construction Excellence 2014 sponsored by Singapore's Building & Construction Authority for two consecutive years. According to Hyundai E&C on May 26, it was given the year's award in the category of CPA-Projects for its "Pasir Ris NV Residences" completed last year. In the category of QEA-Builders, it also won an award.
The award in the CPA-Projects category is given out to construction contractors that complied with the authority's environmental preservation guidelines while exhibiting excellence in productivity and efficiency. The award has been fourth this year since the first award was given in 2010.
The QEA-Builders category award is granted to companies that have completed buildings for the past five years in terms of quality and engineering excellence. In this category as well, Hyundai E&C won the first award among Korean builders. The company has won a total of 13 BCA awards since 1997. In particular, for the past four years since 2011 it has won eight awards in six categories.
A Hyundai E&C official said, "With the winning of the latest BCA Awards including those in the CPA-Projects and QEA-Builders, we proved ourselves one of the best contractors in the world. We will do our best to get more business in Singapore and beyond."
