Seoul Korea - The average amount of time Koreans spend using smartphones per day is estimated at more than 3 hours.

On December 16, the KT Economy & Management Research Lab issued a report titled “Five Years after Introduction of Smartphones, the Change in Mobile Life” based on the analysis of Nielsen Korean Click data.

The report said that the average length of time Koreans spend on smartphones a day stood at 219 minutes (3 hours and 39 minutes), excluding voice call hours. This figure is 2.4 times higher than 91 minutes recorded in March 2012.

By age group, the age group of 20s uses smartphones most, spending 281 minutes per day, followed by teenagers with 239 minutes, those in their 30s with 220 minutes, 40s with 189 minutes, and 50s with 151 minutes.

In other words, Koreans, in general, use smartphones on almost every free time, including commuting hours.
