Las Vegas/Berlin, 6 January 2015 – At IFA’s media reception in Las Vegas the IFA exhibitors Grundig, Digitalstrom and yetu presented their latest product innovations such as Smart Connected Audio Systems, Ultra High Definition TVs and Smart Home Technology Solutions to 120+ Journalists.

“IFA 2014 outlined remarkable trends and ideas for a digital future and underlined its expertise as the world’s meeting place for industry, retail and media, besides being the global launchpad for product premiers”, said Dr. Christian Goeke, CEO Messe Berlin.

“GfK expects worldwide sales growth of + 1.5% for Technical Consumer Goods in 2015. This development is based mainly on the positive development of smart phones, tablet PCs and the growing demand for LCD TV”, Jürgen Boyny, Global Director Consumer Electronics, GfK Retail and Technology predicted at the IFA 2015 Media Reception.

2014 IFA’s unique blend of product innovations, stars and entertainment was presented by more than1,500 exhibitors. The display area covered around 1,6 million square feet and was larger than at any previous event in the history of IFA. IFA 2014 attracted more than 240,000 visitors including 140,000 trade visitors of whom 48,000 came from abroad.5, 900 journalists covered IFA including over 2,600 media members from around the world. Articles and Reports on IFA were published in120 countries. Over a period of six days alone IFA 2014 generated orders totalling 5,3 billion USD, in the run-up to the Christmas season, the most important trading period. This applies equally to both the consumer electronics and home appliances industries.

IFA is the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances and will take place on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds (ExpoCenter City) from 4 to 9 September 2015.
