Samsung Electronics announced on February 23 that it has maintained the No. 1 spot in the global flat panel TV market for nine straight years.
According to market research firm DisplaySearch, Samsung Electronics gained a share of 29.2 percent in the global flat panel TV market last year, the highest in its history, maintaining its leading position for nine consecutive years.
Even in the UHD TV segment which is becoming a mainstream TV market, Samsung Electronics grabbed a share of 34.7 percent last year, up more than 20 percentage points from 11.9 percent in 2013.
In premium market like North America, Samsung Electronics succeeded in differentiating itself from other TV makers by leading new TV market trends on the back of ultra-high definition UHD TVs and curved TVs.
Even in China’s UHD TV market, Samsung Electronics achieved the No. 1 presence with a share of 20.4 percent thanks to its marketing efforts targeting both premium and mid- and low-priced markets.
