The nation’s largest shipbuilding company Hyundai Heavy Industries said on Tuesday it developed a mine wheel loader for underground with a 340-horsepower engine, and is set to ship the products to overseas markets from November.
The height of the new wheel loader was lowered by 70cm from the current models to enable it to pass though low mine. Its car body vibration control system was also strengthened for smooth driving and the safety and durability were improved too.
Inside the underbody of the wheel loader, which can be damageable by ore, diverse protective devices such as transmission and engine oil pan guards along with a rear bumper, lower guard and side cover were installed.
Further, special bucket with high stiffness was installed to maximize work efficiency on the mine spot.
Hyundai Heavy Industries, which began its construction equipment business in 1985, is currently producing six types of construction equipment including excavator, wheel loader, skid loader, forklift, backhoe loader and road equipment. It shipped a record 50 million shipments as of June.
