Facebook is set to release its VR device Oculus in the Korean market soon. US tech firm Oculus, owned by Facebook, recently passed the the National Radio Research Agency’s radio signal certifications.
The radio signal certification stage verifies the adequacy of the electronic products, which occurs in general three to four weeks before the release of the products.
Oculus, armed with a VR platform Oculus Home, is one of the front-runners in the global VR market. Samsung Electronics’ VR device Gear VR is also using the Oculus platform. Oculus’ landing in Korea is expected to contribute to expanding the domestic VR devices and content industries.
According to industry sources, Oculus completed three types of radio signal certifications (headset, position recognition sensor, and remote controller) for Oculus Lift last week.
