A North Korean official has urged South Korea to end a confrontational approach toward the North, warning that war could break out on the peninsula. North Korean official Min Gum Song made the comment Tuesday in an interview with Associated Press Television News in Pyongyang after a meeting commemorating a historic summit in 2000 between the leaders of the two Koreas.
Min said South Korea should stop a policy of confrontation because it would lead to war. Min is a senior official in the North's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland. North Korea recently threatened to attack South Korea to protest its soldiers' use of photos of the North's ruling family as targets during firing drills.
