Samsung SDS announced on Jan. 27 that it ranked 11th in the IT service company brand valuation conducted by Brand Finance, up one notch from a year earlier.
Brand Finance, a global brand consulting firm in the U.K., introduced Samsung SDS as one of the two companies whose brand value rose among the top 25 global IT service companies by recording a 7 percent hike in value to $3.7 billion (4.3 trillion won) from a year earlier.
Regarding Samsung SDS, Brand Finance announced that its growth rate, which exceeds the average of the IT service market; strengthened competitiveness of its high-tech IT technology-based businesses such as AI, IoT, blockchain, 5G, and cloud; partnerships with strategic investment and global companies; and four strategic businesses (Intelligent Factory, Cloud, AI, Analytics, and Solutions) are the secret of its rapid growth in brand value.
In an interview with Brand Finance, Lim Soo-hyun, chief strategy officer of Samsung SDS, said, "We are planning to actively utilize IT new technologies to support digital transformation."
Meanwhile, U.S. economic magazine Forbes selected Samsung SDS as one of the global 50 companies to lead the spread of blockchain last year. Samsung SDS's digital innovation case for manufacturing companies has won the CIO 100 Awards for the fourth consecutive year.
