Global luxury brand Genesis has been launched in China. Genesis Brand held "Genesis Brand Night" at Shanghai International Cruise Terminal on April 2 and announced that it launched a brand targeting the Chinese luxury car market.
Genesis also held a special launching ceremony to show the direction of the brand, logo, car and design by flying a total of 3,500 drones over the Shanghai Huangpu River.
The event, which was held for major figures and media in China, was hosted by Markus Henne, CEO of Genesis China Corp., Jang Jae-hoon, CEO of Genesis Brand, and executive director Lee Sang-yeop, in charge of Genesis design. Actual cars such as G80 and GV80 were also displayed at the site.
"As a luxury car brand, Genesis has become more popular in the United States, Canada, Australia, Russia and the Middle East," Markus Henne said. "Its launch in China will be another chapter in the expansion of the Genesis brand.”
Genesis is targeting younger generations who are key customers of China's luxury car market. Based on Genesis' design philosophy, which is represented by "dynamic elegance," it plans to approach Chinese customers.
Genesis is targeting Chinese luxury car markets with its flagship models such as large luxury sedan G80 and large SUV GV80. The G80 is the iconic model that led to the birth of Genesis, and the GV80 is the brand's first SUV model, both of which are well received in the global market.
"Today is the day when Genesis' grand journey begins anew," CEO Jang said. "I am happy to introduce luxury brand Genesis to Chinese customers who want differentiated values."
Genesis also plans to enter the European luxury car market starting with China this year and take its status as a global luxury brand to another level.
Meanwhile, Genesis has become a luxury car brand that is attracting attention in the global luxury car market since it was launched as an independent brand in 2015 by entering the U.S., Canada, Russia, the Middle East, and Australia.
