Looking at LCD TV shipment results in October by maker, Samsung Electronics composed 19.9% share of total LCD TV shipments followed by LG Electronics with 13.5% and Sony with 12.6%. The increases seen in global makers are due to preparations for end of year peak season including Black Friday in North America.
In terms of LED LCD TV shipment share by maker, Sharp's LED LCD TV production share increased 6%p M/M to exceed 62% benefited from Japan government's Eco Point Policy (Eco-Friendly Consumer Electronics Subside Program) followed by Vizio at 36.5% share and Hisense at 36.2%. Combined LED LCD TV production share from 13 major TV brands in October recorded 31.4% that exceeded 30% level for the first time.
Jusy Hong, senior analyst in Display research group at Displaybank noted "Japanese makers' benefit from Eco Point program would hit the highest point in November and gradually decrease from December. As applicable model and point are cut in half from December 1, we expect to see large drop in shipments from Japanese makers after December."
Hong continued to note "flat panel TV shipment in November would largely grow due to stabilized inventory from set makers, panel and set price decline and year-end peak season."
