LG Electronics released its strategic smartphone G4 in the world’s largest smartphone market China.
LG announced on May 20 that it will start selling the G4 in China through the nation’s largest home electronics online shopping mall JD.com from the end of this month.
The primary reason LG Electronics decided to market the G4 not through offline channels but through online in China include the rising popularity of online malls in China. According to market research firm Strategy Analytics, online channels would account for about 80 million smartphones in China’s total smartphone sales this year.
The G4 will be released in the Dual SIM version in China. There are many Chinese consumers who want to use two USIM cards simultaneously.
The G4 will also support all kinds of LTE services in China, including those from China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom. China’s mobile carriers are using two LTE networks, TD-LTE and FD-LTE.
