LG Electronics' ultralight laptop computer “Gram 14” exceeded the 50,000 mark in cumulative sales, the fastest pace in the history of LG laptops.
According to industry sources on May 22, the sales of the Gram 14 recently passed the 50,000 mark.
An LG official said, "Key factors behind the popularity of the Gram 14 include its thin design, ultralight weight, and powerful performance."
Released first in late January 2015, the Gram 14 has a weight of 980 grams. Considering that the weight of a 14-inch lightweight notebook computer averages at around 1.5 kilograms, the Gram 14 is more than 30 percent lighter.
LG Electronics adopted new materials to drastically reduce the weight of the Gram 14. LG used carbon magnesium and lithium magnesium, used mainly for aircraft fuselage, for the production of the new model. Thanks to the adoption of new materials, the Gram 14 also boasts an improvement in durability.
It is mounted with an Intel 5G microprocessor Core i7, while having the highest graphic performance among same-spec models. Its battery can run up to 10 hours and 30 minutes per single charging.
