As one of members of EXO, Tao announced to act independently in China, a rumor is spreading that he is very likely to leave the team.

On June 11, Tao established ‘Tao Workshop’ in China and opened its official SNS service. On the SNS webpage, he introduced himself as ‘Huangzitao’, his real Chinese name, and stated that “My every day life and the latest news will be updated on this website.

I’m still checking certification process but I welcome following.” This is where people can read his will to act independently, out of EXO.

The rumor that Tao would leave the group has been bulged since April when he left the team for a while because of his injury. At the time, Tao’s father wrote on his Weibo that “I have a responsibility to raise my son healthy and happy as a father. I can no longer see him injured and suffering. If I have to make a choice between staying in Korea and remain as a singer and health, I would choose the latter without hesitation.”, which was translated to be suggesting the possibility of Tao’s leaving.

After that, SM Entertainment, the agency of the group revealed its official stance that it would talk to Tao and seek positive solution to the problem. However, Tao has been acting independently ever since then, resting in the U.S. and entering China to make a contract with a game agency.

SM entertainment has not revealed its official stance but the majority opinion is that Tao is not likely to comeback to EXO. If Tao leaves the group for sure, Lay is the only Chinese in the EXO-M.

Other nine members of the team, except Tao, are actively promoting their second regular repacking album.
