NDis, a 3D display solution maker, has put out flexible displays for Smart Cards using liquid crystal capsules. Liquid crystal molecules are highly flexible and very shock-resistant, as they are aligned inside microscopic capsules. The liquid crystal capsules are functional at lower than than 10 volts. They have better functions than the existing E-INK model. They also cut related expenses and carry more information, considering that they work under a passive matrix method which is the most suitable to flexible displays. NDis was the first Korean developer of the technology.
