The Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation said on June 22 that it delivered Mirae Asset Study Abroad Scholarships to the 18th batch of 250 students.
The Mirae Asset Study Abroad Scholarship program selects excellent Korean students twice a year and gives them the opportunity to study abroad and have various cultural experiences. It is one of Mirae Asset’s CSR projects that has been implemented since 2007.
With the recent selection of 250 students, a total of 3,767 students have been given the opportunity to make their study abroad dreams a reality in 42 countries around the globe.
Above all, the number of this year’s scholarship recipients has increased by 100 to 500 from last year. In addition, the number of study abroad destinations available has risen from 11 countries in the first year of the scholarship program to 42 countries, including the US, Canada, India, Brazil and Lithuania.
Under the slogan “We will become the hope of the youth,” the Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation has offered scholarships to a total of 6,373 students (including 2,484 recipients of domestic scholarships and 122 recipients of global investment expert scholarships) since its foundation in 2000.
Over the past 16 years, nearly 140,000 students have benefitted from Mirae Asset’s scholarship programs, including various talent nurturing programs such as the Shanghai Cultural Experience program and economic and career education programs.
