Thirty LG Electronics executives and employees, including Vice Chairman Cho Seong-jin and union leader Bae Sang-ho, practiced corporate social responsibility. The volunteer work was arranged as part of the "LG Electronics Volunteer Day" event.
On June 19, Vice Chairman Cho and executives and employees visited Eunpyeong Rehabilitation Center in Seoul and made bookcases, drawers and furniture by themselves and delivered them to the center. Also participating in the production were the disabled at the center.
Eunpyeong Rehabilitation Center is a residential facility for people with intellectual and autistic disabilities that are difficult to protect at home. It completed reconstruction last year and needs furniture for the disabled.
On the same day, LG Electronics also donated 80 air purifiers to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital. It is a rehabilitation hospital that opened in 1998 and needs to improve the treatment environment for the disabled due to its small space and lack of facilities compared to domestic visitors.
"We were able to spend meaningful time with the disabled," said Vice Chairman Cho, adding, "As a member of the local community, we will pay attention to the better life of the disabled and practice corporate social responsibility."
