Baek Hyun, CEO of Lotte Tour Development, won the grand prize for creative management at the “first Power Korea Best Award" held at the Korea Press Center in Seoul on Sept. 30.
The Power Korea Best Award was organized by the Korea Broadcasting Newspaper Association and sponsored by Minju Newspaper, Minju TV, Power Interview, and Biosyn Korea. It will select a total of 11 people who have honored Korea in each category.
CEO Baek, who was awarded the creative management award, was named the best person in the tourism industry who led the Korean marine tourism industry and popularized the barren Korean cruise tourism industry.
In addition, he was recognized for his creative management and vision of the future that contributed greatly to strengthening national competitiveness, developing industrial economy and the community with new knowledge information and creation of high value.
"I am very honored to win the first prize in creative management category at the Power Korea Best Award," said CEO Baek. "We will continue to introduce high-quality travel services as well as efforts to develop the cruise industry."
Meanwhile, Lotte Tour will operate the chartered cruise ship this fall in a total of two flights on Oct. 8 and 15. On Oct. 8, it will depart from Incheon for a four-nation tour that will mark the first of its kind and return to Sokcho after visiting China, Japan and Russia. On Oct. 15, it will depart from Sokcho and return to Busan after seeing Russia and Japan.
