Samsung SDS signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) ) with Vietnam's Sovico Group to support digital transformations and innovate logistics last week at Samsung SDS' Jamsil Campus in Seoul.
Nguyen Thanh Hung, chairman of the Sovico Group, who visited South Korea as an economic envoy of the Vietnamese prime minister, held a workshop with Samsung SDS CEO Hong Won-pyo and discussed areas of cooperation between the two companies.
Founded in Hanoi in 1992, Sovico Group includes Vietnam's largest private airline, Vietjet. The group, which has affiliates in the financial, distribution, real estate and energy sectors, has continued to post a steep growth every year.
With this agreement, both companies will cooperate in the logistics business, digital finance, distribution, smart city and membership program fields. In particular, they plan to jointly create new business opportunities in the logistics sector.
Sovico Group expects to achieve digital innovation of existing services and co-develop more business opportunities by applying Samsung SDS' solutions, platforms and business experience.
Sovico Group Chairman Nguyen Thanh Hung said, "Through the agreement, we expect to grow together with Samsung SDS and introduce more services to the market soon."
Meanwhile, Samsung SDS CEO Hong said, "We will actively support the successful digital transformation of the Sovico Group and further expand our business in Vietnam in the future."
